Mark Christensen

Over 20 years’ experience in the waste sector, working primarily for international engineering companies on mechanical recycling and waste to energy technologies, as complex technical sales that involved developing the full business case for projects and focused heavily on RDF / SRF pelletisation as well as bio-renewables (i.e. AD and biomass). For over ten years worked closely with a senior design engineer that developed and evolved pelletisation projects through the 1980s and 1990s and who wrote an engineering handbook on Processing and Recycling MSW to produce an end-of-waste fuel to displace coal for co-firing or conversion, whilst in the short term supplying offtakers in the cement sector. This involved detailed commercial and technical due diligence leading to heads of terms with several offtakers and also set up and managed consortia bids on various Council waste PFI contracts progressing through the tendering process. Has since worked on various added value solutions and technologies for renewable transport fuels, energy storage and chemical recycling of polyolefin plastics.
